Beautiful Trees

Our wild apricot trees are magnificent creations. In the Spring they have the famous popcorn blossoms. In the summer they are gorgeously green. And in the fall they turn 3 different colors, often displayed at the same time: red, orange and yellow with the remaining green. They are glorious to behold. And when we are lucky and have a good year, they also provide abundant fruit. Wild apricots are so much more flavorful than those mushy domesticated things you buy at the store. They dry up deliciously and make the most exquisite jam. We didn't get an apricot crop this year and made lots of peach jam instead, but it's not the same. The apricot jam has a certain tartness that just can't be replaced by even the yummiest of peaches. So sad. But even in a year without fruit, the trees themselves compensate with their inherent loveliness and I am sufficiently satisfied.
